Carlson School of Management – University of Minnesota
The Columns Resource Group is proud to be a partner in the growth and expansion of one of their community’s biggest campuses and one of the nation’s top business schools. Their $125,000 sponsorship of the Carlson School of Management – University of MN helps to deepen the impact they are already making with many alumni participating in volunteer mentoring and educational opportunities.

They have also created The Columns Resource Group Undergraduate Scholarship, which will be awarded every year to an incoming freshman. The promising recipient of this scholarship must have demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as needing financial assistance to pursue their academic ambitions.

5th Annual LLS Golf Tournament
The Columns Resource Group will host the 5th Annual Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Golf Tournament at Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington, MN on Monday August 4th. Once again they are actively looking for golfers, hole sponsors, and silent auction item donors. The golf scramble will be followed by a dinner and silent auction to raise money to help find a cure for blood cancers. This event raised a total of $35,420 for LLS with their 2007 tournament. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society funds nearly $2.5 million in blood cancer research at the University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic. The Columns Resource Group of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network is honored to have received the 2008 LLS Reaching for the Stars Corporate Award. They are proud to once again be involved in raising money for this great organization and cause.

Bed Race for Bridging
Bed Race for Bridging was held on Saturday, March 8th at Buck Hill in Burnsville, Minnesota. The Columns Resource Group sponsored this event for the second year in a row through their corporate sponsorship, teams of racers, pledges, and a team of volunteers to hand out s’mores to the participants. With almost 600 racers and many volunteers and spectators, this year’s event was able to raise over $91,000 which can buy over 900 beds for kids and families who cannot afford them.

Courage Center
We are a proud sponsor of Minneapolis-based Courage Center, a nonprofit rehabilitation and resource center, which has a legacy of advancing the lives of people experiencing barriers to health and independence.
